GAME DAY RECAP: October 24, 2026

Edge School (6) vs OHA Edmonton (4) U15 Prep

Bright and early on Saturday was when Edge School and OHA Edmonton got at a head-to-head clash in Leduc, with one player getting his legs underneath him before the rest of the field. Ian Kim scored two in the first five and a half minutes of the game, bringing his total for the season up to fourteen. Deacon Gillespie scored after Kim’s double to pull OHA Edmonton back into the game, but Kim scored again in the second, with now fourteen goals in his past four games extending the lead further. OHA Edmonton stayed in the game, scoring three in the third to try to fight back, but couldn’t get closer than a two-goal deficit, with Kim’s hat-trick leading Edge to an eventual 6-4 win.

Stanstead College (9) vs Ulysse Academie (5) East CCM

Stanstead College’s red-hot start has taken the East by storm, with Ulysse Academie the obstacle on Saturday between them and an eighth win in nine games to start the season. An explosion of second-period offence for Stanstead established a lead that, despite some eventual duress, held for Stanstead. Matej Dobos (2G) scored two of Stanstead’s five second-period goals, and Stanstead grabbing two goals in 15 seconds in the middle of the third period proved crucial in what ended as a 9-5 Stanstead win. Maveric Thisdelle (2G, 2A) scored two in the third for SC, with Mark Baroud’s (2G, 2A) four points not enough to pull Ulysse closer than the 9-5 Stanstead-favoured scoreline.

North Shore Warriors (5) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6/OT) U17

The North Shore Warriors’ U17 squad still needed a win on Saturday morning against Coeur d’Alene, but for the Wings, the clash with North Shore came after three consecutive wins over the Warriors, most recently 5-1 on Friday night. Through much of this game, it looked as if the Warriors were going to pick up that result, with Eric Jr. Rietz’s two goals in the first period for CDA nullified by four goals over the first two periods from North Shore, two off the stick of Matthew O’Krainetz. A second-period goal from Ozro Paine pulled CDA back in it, with Seth Jemmings (1G, 2A) and Ike Duning scoring in the third to force overtime. It took Paine 77 seconds of overtime to pop up in the slot, take a pass, and find the back of the net for the second time in the game, securing the Wings the 6-5 win.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (4) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5/SO) U18 Prep

Three goals in 2:19 in the first period of play for the Calgary International Hockey Academy in the U18 Prep division against RHA Winnipeg established CIHA a crucial early lead, especially with Winnipeg’s pushback that would ensue. RINK’s pushback would have pushed CIHA over the brink if not for their early offensive prowess, with goals from Riley Bullion (1G, 1A), Colton Ross and Cole Ewonchuk bringing the game to 3-3 early in the third. Kai Dingwall made it 4-3 CIHA no longer after the equalizer, appearing to have saved CIHA’s blushes, before Brady Filmon (1G, 2A) found an equalizer with 29 seconds left in the third. Filmon then opened the scoring on the shootout, Bullion scoring the last, and Maddox Slater made the requisite saves in the shootout to secure his team a win in a game which he stopped 52 shots.

Shawnigan Lake School (5) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

Shawnigan Lake School’s U17 Prep squad became the latest to trump Wenatchee in the U17 Prep division on Friday, with the first of a back-to-back clash ending 7-1 SLS. Things would barely get better for Wenatchee on Saturday, unable to improve on their 0-16-0 start.  Hunter McIntosh gave the Wild the lead early, but that would be the game’s high point, with Shawnigan Lake going on to score five goals on 68 shots to run away from Wenatchee. Five different goal scorers did the damage for Shawnigan, with two points apiece from Bryce Todd (1G, 1A), Owen Vaillancourt (2A), Lucas Partridge-Mather (2A), as well as 17 saves on 18 shots for Berkeley Walter leading SLS to the win.

Ontario Hockey Academy Mavericks (7) vs Mount Academy East (5) CCM

Two losses in three games to start Mount Academy’s season was one that MA hoped to improve upon on Saturday, with a strong start in North Rustico coming by virtue of scoring first but needing to fight through the Mavericks’ comeback efforts. The OHA Mavericks hung around, equalizing twice to make it 1-1 and 2-2, before snatching a 3-2 lead in the second period. Eventually, the Mavericks finished the second period off having scored five goals to take a 6-3 lead into the third, which they add an insurance marker to in a 7-5 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna Red (4/SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) Women’s U18 Prep

Two goals in the span of barely two and a half first period minutes for Delta Hockey Academy Black Women’s U18 Prep laid a foundation on which they’d build what they’d hope was destined to be a successful Saturday afternoon performance. That might’ve been the case if not for Charlie Knight stealing one back at the end of the first for Kelowna, and Avery Knoblauch opening the second period with an equalizer. Jordyn Dumont went on to eventually make it 3-3 in the third for Kelowna. RHAK might not have led over three periods, but forced overtime, and would win it in the shootout, with Iya Morris’ goal standings as the winner.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) Women’s U18 Prep

Through 37 minutes of play, the Pilot Mound Buffaloes looked the better side, and the squad likely to prevail in their Saturday Women’s U18 Prep clash with CIHA. Gracie Bray’s fourth of the season led PMHA to their 3-1 lead, but with 12 minutes left in the second, CIHA’s Olivia Trann (1G, 1A) scored a goal that sparked a Calgary comeback. Abigail Thom tied the game at three before the end of the second, with Blake Ernewein’s goal just 74 seconds into the third period giving CIHA a 4-3 lead, their first of the game. Talysa Mah sealed the deal later in the third, providing the insurance marker in her team’s 5-3 win.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep

The South Alberta Hockey Academy overcame an early deficit to defeat Pilot Mound Hockey Academy 5-2 on Saturday, doing so by outshooting their opponents 67-23. Pilot Mound opened the scoring through Maddox Ramage (2G), but Cohen Rotar (1G, 1A) responded on the power play late in the first to even the score, with the Swift Current Broncos prospect now having scored in each of his seven CSSHL games this season. Carter Gilchrist (gave SAHA the lead in the second before his team took control with three goals in just under two minutes and three seconds in the third. Eric Schrock, Liam Green (1G, 1A), and Nixon Bettenson each found the back of the net, putting the game out of reach. Ramage added his second late in the contest, while SAHA netminder Ben Meyer turned aside 21 of 23 shots in the victory.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs Indigenous Sports Academy (2) U17

A back-and-forth contest between RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg and Indigenous Sports Academy saw RINK emerge with a 4-2 victory on Saturday, even though ISA put them on the back foot early. Taron Kaiswatum (2G) opened the scoring late in the first, but Perry Nepinak (2G, 1A) responded just 20 seconds later to tie the game. Following a scoreless second period, Nepinak gave RINK its first lead of the afternoon early in the third, only for Kaiswatum to answer with his second of the contest. With just over a minute remaining, Mateo Saldivar broke the deadlock to give Winnipeg the lead before Owen Anderson sealed the victory with an empty-net marker. Nash Siemens stopped 28 of 30 shots for RINK, while Mason Horril contributed two assists.

North Shore Warriors (2) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (4) U15

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy built an early lead and held off a late push from the North Shore Warriors to secure a 4-2 victory on Saturday, with Ethan Kersten (2G) opening the scoring just 1:03 into the contest, and Jhett Gervais doubling the advantage later in the first. Kersten added his second early in the middle frame before Roman Johns extended the lead to four. North Shore found some life in the third, as Kesler Holmes and Josh Kwan scored to cut the deficit in half, but the comeback would fall short, thanks to Dylan Van Wieren making 24 saves in the victor. Jonah Michell and Kaiden Miller each recorded two assists for Pacific Coast.

Edge School (0) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy Women’s (1) U18 Prep

A tightly contested defensive battle between Edge School and the South Alberta Hockey Academy ended in a 1-0 victory for SAHA on Saturday, with neither side could find the back of the net through the opening period, thanks to both goaltenders keeping the game scoreless deep into the second. With just three seconds remaining in the second, Taylor Crocker broke through for her sixth goal of the season, set up by Riley Bourque. That would stand as the game’s only marker, as SAHA held off Edge throughout the third. Avery Brunen (29/29) was perfect between the pipes, stopping all 29 shots she faced to earn the shutout, while Breina Moore made 28 on 29 for Edge.

Notre Dame Hounds (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4/SO) U17 Prep

The Notre Dame Hounds looked like they’d successfully battled back from two separate deficits to earn a 3-2 result over RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg on Saturday, but in the dying moments, Winnipeg snatched an equalizer to change the whole story. Maddex Mason (2G) opened the scoring for RINK in the first, with Reg Huebner (1G, 2A) answering on the power play to tie the game heading into the intermission. Mason restored RINK’s lead early in the second, only for Liam Bird (1G) to respond with another power-play marker less than two minutes later. Just 51 seconds after Bird’s equalizer, Dominik Chartrand (1G) found the back of the net to give Notre Dame its first lead of the contest, the one they’d take into the last two and a half minutes. In the dying moments, Grayson Speirs (1G, 1A) broke through for Winnipeg, notching his third goal in his past two games to force overtime and eventually a shootout. D-man Zachary Haney opened the shootout with a goal, which proved to be the only one of the skills competition, with no Hounds shooters able to beat Winnipeg’s DJ Mecas (33/36) in his and his team’s shootout win.

Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) vs Edge School (5) U17 Prep

The shots on goal margin between the Northern Alberta Xtreme and Edge School told the tale of the tape, with an 18-2 margin in Edge’s favour seeing the Mountaineers emerge from the first with a 3-0 lead that they wouldn’t loosen their grasp of. Edge outshot NAX 28-11 over the final forty, scoring two more in a 5-0 win. Cade Mazurski contributed three assists for Edge, with Chase Miles stopping 13 of 13 in the win.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (6) vs Notre Dame Hounds (2) U15 Prep

The Notre Dame Hounds’ wait for their first result of the season in the U15 Prep division will unfortunately continue past Saturday, with SAHA grabbing two goals apiece from Teddy Maser (2G, 2A) and Carson Lamotte leading the way for South Alberta. SAHA outshot Notre Dame 17-2 in the first period and 50-16 over the full three periods in their 6-2 win.

Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1) vs CIH Academy (3) East CCM

CIH Academy secured a 3-1 victory over Okanagan Hockey Ontario, with a huge second period ultimately the difference in CIH lifting above their opponents. Nikita Lozhenitsyn opened the scoring on the power play just over four minutes into the first for CIH, with Mitchell Goodine responded for OHO less than three minutes later. The deadlock continued until midway through the second, when Fredryk Gosselin restored CIH’s lead, and Lozhenitsyn (1G, 1A) picking up an assist. Artem Osin added another just over two minutes later, extending the advantage to 3-1. Neither side found the scoresheet in the third, allowing CIH to hold on for the victory.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (3) vs Shawnigan Lake School (5) U18 Prep

Carson Peet scored twice in the opening period to lead Shawnigan Lake School into an early lead against the Pacific Coast Sea Devils, following up a brilliant goal from Sean Murphy which opened the scoring midway through the first. Jakob Schmidt responded for Pacific Coast just 39 seconds later, but Peet restored Shawnigan’s lead 12 seconds after the equalizer, adding a power-play marker late in the period to make it 3-1. Grant Paper extended the advantage early in the second, but Pacific Coast refused to go away. Cortland LeMieux scored late in the middle frame, and KJ Raymond brought the Sea Devils within one early in the third. However, Ellis Thurmeier sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute, while Donagh Esler-Twiss made 28 saves in the win.

North Shore Warriors Orange (0) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (2) Women’s U18 Prep

Kiana Yao scored both goals as Okanagan Hockey Academy Black shut out the North Shore Warriors Orange 2-0 on Saturday, with an early start the key for Okanagan. Yao opened the scoring just 1:33 into the contest, with Elise Arnason and Komi Yam collecting assists, and despite opportunities at both ends from there, neither team found the back of the net through the remainder of the first or the entirety of the second. Yao struck again just 2:32 into the third, this time on the power play, with Arnason (2A) and Simone Colborne providing the helpers. Kacey MacLean turned aside all 26 shots she faced to secure the shutout, while North Shore’s Zoey Pupille made 33 saves in the loss.

CHE Academy (3) (CCM) vs Fort Erie International Academy (4) (BioSteel) East

Forty-eight shots, three goals, no points. CHE Academy’s U18 Prep group spent much of Saturday night in Fort Erie’s end and still left the Leisureplex with a 4-3 loss, largely because of the netminder who started the second period. Daniel Geshev took over from Gabriel Gagnon (8/9) after one and turned aside 37 of 39, including 21 of 22 in a lopsided third. Mason Tanguay (2G) put the visitors ahead twice, the first time unassisted, and both times the home side answered. Victor Yuzgulec (1G, 1A) and Nikolai Shishmarev (2G) evened things up, with Vincent Harvey (2A) setting up both goals. Quint Myers (1G) gave CHE a third lead 52 seconds into the final frame, and Shishmarev (2G) needed just 31 seconds to erase it. Defenceman Anthony Mannino (1G, 1A) then struck at 7:03 for the winner, Fort Erie’s first lead of the night. Neither power play scored, as each side went 0-for-3, so the game was decided at even strength.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (0) Women’s U18 Prep

Kelowna had faced Delta Green three times this season and lost all three, twice by a single goal. The fourth meeting, at Planet Ice Delta, was also decided by one goal, but this time it went Kelowna’s way. Neither team scored for more than 44 minutes. Delta’s best stretch came in the second period, when the home team outshot RINK 16-5 and got a late power play, and the Kelowna netminder stopped everything. The breakthrough came early in the third, when Mikayla Broadfoot (1G) scored her first goal of the season off a feed from Brynn Rice (1A) and Avery Bliss (1A). At the other end, Maive Gosselin-Berg stopped 23 of 24 to keep Delta within one, and the hosts went 0-for-2 with the extra skater. It wasn’t enough against Jenna Ring, who finished with 33 saves on 33 shots and earned Kelowna its first win over Delta this year.

BWC Academy (3) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U15 Prep

BWC’s U15 Prep group ended a two-game skid in North Vancouver with a shutout, and two forwards who kept feeding each other did most of the work. The first period settled nothing, with each team putting 11 shots on goal. Midway through the second, Mars Zhang (1G, 1A) opened the scoring, with Mitchell Wilson (1G, 1A) and Cooper McBride (1A) drawing the assists. In the third they switched roles: Zhang (1G, 1A) assisted and Wilson (1G, 1A) buried the insurance goal, with defenceman Sullivan Shoucair (1A) adding the second helper. Between the pipes, Grayson Kennard made 27 saves on 27 shots, and the penalty kill held the Warriors to 0-for-4. The final goal went to someone scoring for the first time this season. Donivan Cominetti (1G) potted an empty net goal with 52 seconds remaining.

St. George’s School (2) vs STAR Hockey Academy (6) U18 Prep

STAR Hockey Academy needed only 47 seconds to erase a full period of good work by St. George’s, a day after beating the same opponent 5-4. The first period belonged to SGS. Adam Benn (1G) opened the scoring early, and Noah Fowler (1G) cashed in on the power play to make it 2-0. STAR answered with a 21-shot second period, and Joffrey Chan held firm until Hunter Hoggan (3G) beat him at 12:46. Blaise Weibye (1G) tied it 26 seconds later, and Hoggan (3G) scored again 21 seconds after that. The third period went the same way. Zakhar Kovalenko (1G) scored unassisted while shorthanded, Hoggan (3G) completed the hat-trick, and Adam Neilson (1G, 1A) added the sixth. Chan finished with 33 saves on 39 shots, while Erik Sims (27/29) kept SGS off the board after the first period. Carter Como (3A) had three assists, but Liam Yackel (4A) had the more unusual line: no goals and a hand in four of the six.

OHA Edmonton (2) vs Edge School (6) U17

On paper, OHA Edmonton had the man advantage four times. On the ice, the special-teams goals all went to Edge School. Edge outshot Edmonton 15-3 in the first period, and Satoshi Takeda (1G) opened the scoring late in the frame. Boston Engel (1G) tied it early in the second on a pass from Anakin Vandersteen (1A). Then Edge’s penalty kill went on the attack. Kyson Sylvester (2G, 1A) restored the lead while a man down, and less than three minutes later Jaret Otto (1G) did the same, with Tanner Kuntz (1A) earning the assist. Bronson Kasturi (35/41) kept the score from getting out of hand for long stretches in the OHAE goal. Zack Salem (1G) and Sylvester (2G, 1A) added third-period goals on either side of Eric Martin (1G), whose first of the season was set up by Henrik Alexander-Ward (1A). Late in the game, Connor Huynh (1G, 1A) scored Edge’s third shorthanded goal. Neither power play scored. Only one penalty kill had three goals to show for its afternoon.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (0) U15 Prep

Prairie Hockey Academy’s U15 Prep group played its first home game of the season at Barkman Arena, and the busiest player in the building wore its colours. Calgary International put 68 shots on Hudson Reimer, and the Prairie goalie stopped 63 of them. Reimer held CIHA scoreless through a first period in which the visitors outshot Prairie 14-4. Kaisen Kirchner (1G) finally got one past him 1:44 into the second. Brody Bogean (1G) and Miles Coy (1G, 1A) followed before intermission, during a 27-shot frame in which Lucas Beaudin (2A) assisted on two goals. The third brought another 27 shots. Defenceman Cohen St. Louis (1G) scored inside the first minute, and Nino Balestrieri (1G, 1A) closed it out early, with Colton Smith (2A) assisting for the second time. At the other end, Mason Filipchuk needed only 15 saves for the shutout. Five different CIHA players scored, and for Bogean (1G) and Balestrieri (1G, 1A) it was a first goal of the season.

CIH Academy (3) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (9) East BioSteel

Sergei Kozinskii (1G) gave CIH Academy the lead on the power play midway through the first, with Ollie Brown (1G, 1A) earning the assist. The lead lasted just over two minutes. Jayden-Amari Danois (1G) answered on an Okanagan Hockey Ontario man advantage, Michael Champagne (1G) scored unassisted a minute later, and Kristers Olksna (1G, 1A) made it three goals in under two minutes. Ryan Sucher (2G, 1A) added one more with nine seconds left in the period, and OHO never let the gap close. Mikelis Kreicbergs (1G) converted another power play early in the second, and Lari Pohjamo (2G) scored twice in the frame, the second one on his own. CIH did get some reward: Brown (1G, 1A) scored his first of the season late in the second, and Adomas Rastenis (1G) added his first in the third. The ninth goal went to defenceman Keegan Roche (1G, 2A), capping a three-point night and making it seven different OHO goal-scorers.

Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (0) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (14) U18 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna’s U18 Prep group didn’t make it easy, spreading the scoring across 12 different players, with 15 of its 17 skaters recording a point. The pace barely changed all night: 22 shots in the first, 21 in the second and 22 in the third. Finn Howes (2G, 1A) started it midway through the first, and three more goals in under two minutes late in the period made it 4-0. Cole Hamakawa (2G, 2A) led the team with four points, including one of three shorthanded goals. Colton Deschamps (1G) and Mason Poitras (1G, 1A) scored the others with a teammate in the box. Mason Alexander (3A) and defenceman Miller Watkins (3A) handled the playmaking. Deschamps (1G) was one of four players to score his first goal of the season, along with Griffin Hoy (1G, 2A), Shyloh Benko (1G, 1A) and Jack Brown (1G, 1A). Mason McDougall made 51 saves for Wenatchee, and at the other end, Hunter Zawislak needed just 15 for the shutout.

Shawnigan Lake School (2) vs St. George’s School (11) U15 Prep

Both sides spent plenty of time in the penalty box at UBC’s Father Bauer Arena, but St. George’s did far more with its time on the ice, rolling to an 11-2 win over Shawnigan Lake. Josh Marsh (3G, 1A) scored 4:19 in, added another midway through the second and completed his hat-trick early in the third. Asher Rogachevsky (1G, 4A) assisted on all three. SGS outshot Shawnigan 27-9 in the first period and took a 3-0 lead into intermission. Cooper Sinclair (1G) gave Shawnigan a lift early in the second, finishing a pass from Kai Yamamoto (1A). Ninety-two seconds later, defenceman Henry Jiang (1G) restored the three-goal cushion on the power play, the first of four SGS goals in the period. Asher Jin (2G) scored twice, and Quentin Hersch (3A) assisted on three goals as eight different St. George’s players scored. Eston Clement (44/55) faced a heavy workload in the Shawnigan goal.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (4) vs BWC Academy (5/OT) U17

For the second straight night, BWC Academy beat RINK Kelowna by a single goal. This time it took a little longer, and most of it ran through defenceman Matthew Sutherland (3G, 2A). He gave BWC the early lead on a pass from fellow blueliner Max Goodman (2A). RINK then flipped the game in the second, with Hamish Colquhoun (1G) and Connor Groves (1G) scoring off assists from Kyle Schierling (1A) and Declan Smith (1A). Sutherland (3G, 2A) tied it later in the period and completed his hat-trick on the power play 78 seconds into the third. Adriano Ciccone (1G) made it 4-2 shortly after, and Chase Henderson (3A) had a hand in three straight BWC goals. Then Oliver Peck (2G) scored twice in 44 seconds late in regulation, the second on the power play with Reed Witham (1A) assisting, to force overtime. It took Owen Chapman (1G) just 23 seconds to end it, with Theo Falk (2A) and Sutherland (3G, 2A) on the winner.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs STAR Hockey Academy (5/OT) U15

Okanagan Hockey Academy spent much of the night in STAR’s end, and Wyatt Scott spent much of it turning them away. The STAR goalie faced at least 13 shots in every regulation period and finished with 38 saves on 42 as his team outlasted OHA in overtime. OHA led twice. Hunter Borba (2G) scored unassisted in the first, only for Leif Steingard (2G) to tie it 37 seconds later. Steingard (2G) then gave STAR the lead in the second. Borba (2G) and defenceman Carter Hinds (1G, 1A) answered 44 seconds apart, the second goal Hinds’s first of the season. Owen Miller (2G) responded with goals on either side of the second intermission, both assisted by Callan Dorzek (2A). Ryo Riva (1G) pulled OHA even midway through the third on a pass from Hinds (1G, 1A). Scott held firm from there, and Sawyer Glass (1G, 2A) ended it 1:18 into overtime, with Kaiden Thiessen (1A) on the assist. Both clubs came in on two-game losing streaks, and STAR’s is the one that’s over.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep

Coeur d’Alene kicked things off hot with a pair of early goals from Brody Finley (3G, 1A) and Dusty Koester (2G). The Sea Devils would get one back with 5-seconds remaining in the frame thanks to a late effort by Tate Davis (1G, 1A). Koester would restore CDA’s two goal advantage early in the second but a pair of goals by PCHA would brings things back to even. Late in the second, Finley would nab his second to thrust CDA back into the lead. 4-3 heading into the third, Finley would nab his hat-trick with the first goal of the frame. However, PCHA’s Elliott Fogelklou (1G, 1A) would strike a mere 5-seconds after to cut the deficit back to one. Everett Munro (2G) would bag his second of the game soon after as well. CDA leading scorer TJ Podollan (1G, 3A) restoring the lead once again as the Sea Devils continued to drive the offense. Two minutes after Podollan’s marker. Greyson Ekramoddoullah (2G, 1A) would tie things once more, sparking another fury of offense for PCHA. Easton Lang would ultimately be the hero, scoring his first of the season to give PCHA their first lead of the contest. Ekramoddoullah would put the icing on the cake later in the frame as PCHA takes this one a score of 8-6 after being down or tied for a majority of the match.
